The Brisbane Strikers emerged from a fortnight without football tonight to begin the second round of QSL fixtures in much the way that they started the first, with a 7-0 thrashing of a plucky Gold Coast Stars side at Perry Park.

 

While the score resembled the 9-1 shellacking the Strikers handed out to the Stars in March the effort by the Stars was actually much better this time, with the scoreline blowing out late in the game as the undermanned Stars, handicapped by several players having to back up from the earlier youth league game and further depleted by the first half sending-off of winger Daniel Bina, ran out of legs.
