Grand Final Preview

With the Australian Premier League set to begin next year, the QSL reaches its last very last game at 2.00 pm on Sunday with the Grand Final between Sunshine Coast Fire and Whitsunday Miners at Stockland Park.

The two teams who finished third and fourth in the league, but who came into the finals with the most momentum, have qualified for the big occasion in what shapes as a classic David and Goliath encounter when their respective pedigrees over the history of the competition are taken into account.

The Fire are the most decorated team in the league, having won the championship-grand final double on three previous occasions, while the Miners are yet to win a thing – having spent most of their five years nearer the foot of the league table than its pinnacle.
